A VILLAGE pub will host a fundraising event this afternoon to help send poorly youngsters on the trip of a lifetime.
The Green Tree, in Tudhoe Village, near Spennymoor, will host the event in aid of KIDS (Kids with Immune Deficient Systems). The charity hopes to raise enough money to give children with immune-related illnesses a holiday to Disneyland Paris.
It has been organised by Spennymoor mum-of-three Nancy Deverson, whose 14-year-old son Joby Mageean has immune deficiency disorder Brutons Disease.
Mrs Deverson, of York Hill Road, volunteered for a head shave and has erected a set of stocks. She also collected auction prizes, including a signed Sunderland football shirt.
