MANUFACTURER Torque Tension Systems (TTS) has won an order to supply hydraulic equipment to an Alaskan oil and gas pipeline.
The company, based in Bedlington, Northumberland, was the only UK manufacturer invited to tender for the work as part of a $250m project to upgrade the pipeline's pump stations.
The order, for a hydraulic tensioning system, came after a trade mission to the US supported by UK Trade and Investment, the Government's foreign trade operation.
The system will help prevent oil spillage on the pipeline, which is co-owned by several oil companies, including BP and Exxon/Mobil
