Scouts and their families raised about £500 last weekend at an autumn fair.
The 8th Darlington (Cockerton Green) Scout Group met at the headquarters, in Cockerton, Darlington, on Saturday for an afternoon of games, stalls, refreshments and a raffle.
Viv Robinson, who is on the Scout committee, said the day was a success and thanked all the helpers, particularly Doris Stapleton.
She said that after collecting very little at the garden fair in June, because of bad weather, the money raised at the weekend will help towards the group's running costs.
The Scouts also hope to receive a grant from the National Heritage Lottery Fund towards the £350,000 needed to renovate the headquarters.
