THE stunning face behind a high-profile hair advert has been revealed as North-East teenager Hannah Shaw, who was spotted while on a school trip.
Hannah, then only 14, was at the Clothes Show Live at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre as part of an art project when she was seen by scouts from the Select Model Management agency.
They asked if she would like to be on the agency's books and she signed a two-year contract.
Since then, Hannah has graced the catwalks of Paris, London and Milan, been on the cover of Vogue magazine and also passed seven GCSEs.
Now, she is the girl in the Remington Wet 2 Straight hair-straighteners advert.
Hannah, 16, from Greenside, Gateshead, a former pupil of Ryton Comprehensive School, in the town, said: "A career in modelling had never even crossed my mind before that school trip.
"It was totally unexpected and really quite weird, but I discussed it with my mum and dad and we decided I should go for it because chances like this only happen once in a lifetime."
Hannah has already travelled around the world through her modelling, including trips to New York, Milan, Madrid, Paris and Berlin.
She had rubbed shoulders with the likes of top British model Lily Cole and actress Sadie Frost.
This year alone, she has done the Chanel couture show in Paris, a four-day shoot for Dolce & Gabbana in Milan and the recent London Fashion Week.
Despite her glamorous lifestyle, Hannah still lives with her parents, stepfather Terry, 56, mum Karen, 47, and 13-year-old brother Tom.
Mr Shaw, a haulage contractor, said: "We're absolutely delighted for her.
"Modelling is an industry where you have to grab the moment and she's grabbed it with both hands. We're really proud of her."
