BISHOP Auckland manager Brian Honour says that his team faces a crucial week after their 5-2 defeat at Guiseley on Saturday.

Bishops lie in the bottom two with just one win from 11 matches, and Honour said: "The next two games, against Gateshead and Wakefield, will determine a few things.

"Our form must improve, otherwise we'll be right in the mire. Our current form is poor and everybody must do better, including myself. We did well on the first half on Saturday, but we collapsed after half time."

Bishops started the game well, and took the lead in the opening minutes when Steve West scored with a looping header.

They held on until half time, but then it all went wrong. David Cooke (three), Mark Stuart and Simon Parke scored for Guiseley, while Stuart Irvine pulled a goal back following a David Morgan throw in the last minute.

Spennymoor were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Witton Albion.

Moors did everything but score. Anth McStea was denied by a good save by the Witton keeper, then Tommy Raw, Keith Graydon and Michael Oliver all missed good chances.

John Toft did manage to beat the Witton keeper, but his goal was disallowed for offside.

Blyth last night appointed Harry Dunn as their new manager for the second time. Dunn, who also played for Spartans, was boss of Whitby until last month and will be assisted by Graham Fenton.

On Saturday they lost 1-0 to Ossett Town.
