A NEW director has been appointed at a North Yorkshire wine merchants
John Moorhouse has been promoted after joining Playford Ros, in Thirsk, in 2002.
Mr Moorhouse, 32, was born in Leeds and educated at Ashville College, Harrogate, and at Sheffield Hallam University, where he studied business management.
He worked for brewer Scottish & Newcastle for seven years in Yorkshire and East Anglia as a sales executive and account manager, before being appointed sales manager.
A keen rugby player for Leodensians RUFC, he lives in Great Ouseburn, near York, and is married to Jancey. The couple have a 20-week-old son called Jonty.
Playford Ros managing director Andrew Firth said: "John's promotion to director is richly deserved.
"He has worked exceptionally hard since he joined us and his new role will strengthen both our management and our sales teams."
