MOTORISTS travelling between Guisborough and Redcar face severe traffic disruption as the main route between the two towns is closed for four weeks.
Bus passengers also face a month of disruption as resurfacing work is carried out on a one-kilometre stretch of the B1269 to the south of Dunsdale from next Monday.
The road is also the main access route in and out of the village of Dunsdale.
Residents of the villages of Dunsdale and nearby Yearby are being offered a free taxi service, which will take people to either Redcar or Guisborough along existing bus routes.
It will be available during normal bus service times - Monday to Saturday, 7am to 11.55pm and Sunday 9.30amto 11.55pm.
For more information on the bus changes, contact the Joint Public Transport Group on (01287) 612528.
A £60,000 road resurfacing scheme at the junction of the A1085 Trunk Road, Kirkleatham Lane and Corporation Road, in Redcar, will also begin next Monday.
The work will involve three-way temporary lights at the junction and the closure of Corporation Road, with a signed diversion via Mersey Road, Roseberry Road and Kirkleatham Lane.
