YOUNG swimmers have brought home a bagful of prizes from an annual competition.
The Teaspoon Gala, held in Sheffield, is one of the few remaining events that involve 50-metre races for the four main strokes - breaststroke, freestyle, back and butterfly.
Instead of trophies, the top three competitors in each race receive a teaspoon made in Sheffield to symbolise the city's cutlery industry.
Swimmers from Thirsk's White Horse Swim Team competed against youngsters who regularly swim at county and district level, but still managed to come away victorious.
Thomas Butler, 11, from Northallerton, who is recognised as one of the most promising young swimmers in the region, came away with a gold for breaststroke and two silver medals for butterfly and freestyle.
Jennifer Crewdson, 14, from Maunby, won gold, and Mark Chamberlain, 11, from Thirsk, won bronze, both for breaststroke.
Club coach Hannah Creelman brought home two silver medals in breaststroke and freestyle races.
