YOUNGSTERS whose dancing skills lit up Darlington Civic Theatre this week could be in line for their own awards.
A group of young people from the town's Red Hall estate took to the stage on Monday night to give an energetic performance at the Vibe Awards ceremony.
They regularly attend activities organised by the Red Hall Partnership and have put their talents to good use in the past by staging fundraising activities.
Four shows, in which the youngsters have performed songs and dances from musicals, have raised more than £500 for activities in the Red Hall area.
Play development co-ordinator Sarah Johnson said the partnership was hoping to stage its own awards evening that would include recognition for the youngsters, some of whom were too young to receive the Vibe honours.
"The commitment and determination of the kids is absolutely outstanding," she said.
* A photo caption relating to the Vibe Awards at Darlington Civic Theatre, in yesterday's Northern Echo, incorrectly stated that the dancers pictured were from the Stagecoach theatre school. They were, in fact, youngsters from the Red Hall estate.
Another caption including the name Tom Smith should have read Adam Bates. We apologise for the errors.
