LIBRARY and community office workers at Colburn, North Yorkshire, have trained in each other's jobs following refurbishment of their premises.
The community office moved to the library and information centre on the Broadway in August following the building's facelift.
Now, Richmondshire District Council and North Yorkshire County Council are working together and opening hours have been extended.
Staff from the county council-run library and the community office - run by the district authority - have trained in all the roles. Community office assistants can now serve library customers and library staff help provide council services as and when required.
The community office is open Thursdays and Fridays, from 10am to 5pm. At other times, when the library and information centre is open, some district council services will be available.
