A YEAR-long school arts project culminated in pupils staging an exhibition of their work in a real art gallery.
Youngsters from Bishop Monkton CE Primary School had their work displayed in the village's Hield Gallery.
The show included works in a number of media, including collage and ceramics, and all were inspired by visits the youngsters made to the gallery during the past year.
Their visits included opportunities to explore and discuss the work on show, and to use the gallery's grounds with their wealth of plant and animal life as inspiration for artwork.
Headteacher Chris Duffield said: "The children have been completely inspired by their contact with the Hield Gallery and have produced some really exciting pieces of art.
"It has been a very positive experience for them to have been involved in over the course of a year, and we have been able to combine many elements of the curriculum, such as science and language skills, as well as art and design."
