SUNDAY'S match at Oxford can't come soon enough for Darlington striker Alun Armstrong.

The Geordie is keen to carry on where he left off after opening his Quakers account with the first hat-trick of his career in Saturday's 4-0 demolition of Southend United.

Quakers' trip to the Kassam Stadium has been put back 24 hours as England play Wales in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

"The win against Southend will have done us the world of good and we now have to make sure it wasn't a one-off," said Armstrong.

He last faced Oxford as a Middlesbrough player four years ago, when his two goals helped the Teessiders to a 4-1 win and promotion to the Premiership.

With one eye on a return to the Championship, Armstrong is determined to keep the goals flowing.

The 29-year-old has made no secret of his desire to play at a higher level after joining Quakers on a short-term deal last month after being freed by Ipswich.

Walsall, Rotherham and Oldham are known admirers of Armstrong, who is under contract until December.

Canadian defender Tyler Hughes will play for Quakers reserves at Notts County today (2pm).

The 23-year-old is on a fortnight's trial at the Williamson Motors Stadium. Former Charlton midfielder Adrian Webster will also feature after joining the club on a one-month deal last week.
