CHARITY worker Toni Hird was jailed for three months yesterday after driving when more than five times over the drink-drive limit - six months after being banned from the roads for a similar offence.
Harrogate magistrates heard how Hird, 33, had been disqualified in March but had gone shopping in her BMW on September 4.
Carole Howie, prosecuting, said a traffic warden saw Hird, a volunteer for Cancer Research, driving at 5mph down South Park Road, Harrogate, where she lived, causing traffic to swerve.
Hird pleaded guilty to drink-driving, breaking the ban and not being insured.
