YOUNG Emily Talbot is already proving she has got what it takes to reach the top of her sport.
The five-year-old, from South Stanley, won first prize in a graded trampoline competition, in Ashington, Northumberland, last weekend.
A pupil at South Stanley Infants School, she competed against a dozen youngsters aged up to nine, in the grade five category.
Her coaches at the Louisa Trampoline Club, in the Louisa Centre, Stanley, are Lisa Heywood and Andrew Brown.
They said: "Although Emily is very young, she has a great deal of dedication and an enormous amount of potential.
"She has a great future ahead of her. Everyone at the Louisa Centre is very proud of her."
Emily, who lives with parents Kevin and Lesley, sister Rebecca, aged seven, and baby brother Daniel, who is eight months old, has been going to trampoline sessions since she was two.
First place medals also went to Charlotte Hayward, aged nine, Eve Lofthouse, ten and Jonelle Pye, 11, who qualified to grade two and can now compete in national contests.
Coach Andrew Brown also won first place in the over 18s group.
Second places were achieved by Mark Anson, 15, and Danielle Heslop, 12, while Katherine McMahon, 16, and Jennifer Carr, 14, came third in their groups.
