GRANDPARENTS and parents are going back to school in a project aiming to get more people using computers.
The e-family learning project is taking place in the new £300,000 computer suite at Greencroft School, in Annfield Plain, near Stanley.
It will train youngsters and members of their family in basic IT skills, such as using Microsoft Windows, digital imaging and word processing.
Peter Dawson, the school's ICT manager, said: "This is about developing people's potential.
"It is inclusive and gives our older pupils a sense of responsibility."
Students from Monkseaton High School, in North Tyneside, have been in school, to train Greencroft's year 11 pupils. In turn, they will work with year seven pupils and their families.
"Eventually, we hope to roll it out to year six as well," said Mr Dawson. "That way, our pupils will be training the next generation of trainers."
