THE North-East is preparing to host a worldwide business event today.
Delegates from across the globe are visiting Tyneside over the next few days for the Integrated Advisory Group (IAG) networking conference, hosted by law firm Ward Hadaway.
IAG is a professional networking organisation for lawyers and accountants, enabling members to share understanding of each other's countries and the associated legal and commercial frameworks.
The group's chairman Birger Gunnard, from Sweden: said, "Newcastle stands out as a favourite venue with our members to host IAG's autumn assembly.
"We were attracted by the fabulous reputation Newcastle has for being a vibrant city with an amazing cultural heritage, so much so that a record number of people will be coming along."
Jamie Martin, managing partner at Ward Hadaway said: "It is a great honour for the firm, and indeed for Newcastle, to host this event."
To welcome the assembly, the Millennium Bridge will lift as the group dines in the Baltic art centre's rooftop restaurant.
