STAFF at a Weardale museum have called in ghostbusters to help them solve a mystery.
In recent weeks, workers at the North of England Lead Mining Museum, at Killhope, in Upper Weardale, County Durham, have noticed strange activities in the mine shop, originally the place where miners used to sleep.
A game of draughts keeps mysteriously moving around the room overnight.
Information assistant Pauline James said: "At first we thought it was someone playing a prank, but we've eliminated that theory.
"Others think that it might be mice having a game or two but some staff are beginning to feel a little edgy about it all."
Ghostbusters will investigate the strange goings on in time for halloween workshops to take place on October 30 and 31.
Mrs James said: "It looks as if we might have a real spooky story to tell if the ghostbusters can find out just why the draughts are moving."
