HOSPITAL staff held a fancy dress day yesterday to raise awareness of mental health issues.
People from the Darlington Memorial Hospital's Pierremont Unit and Grange Day Centre at Eston, Middlesbrough, enjoyed line dancing in the morning and karaoke in the afternoon.
The events, at Willow Road Community Centre, were organised by the charity Mental Health Matters.
Support worker Pat Davison said: "We held the event to promote World Mental Health Day on Sunday.
"We want to raise awareness of the issues people with mental health problems face and reduce the stigma.
"Instead of going round town with tins we decided to hold an event that people would be able to join in.
"It is about participating and confidence building.
"The day went really well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves."
