STUDENTS have been given hands-on advice about marketing.
The GCSE travel and tourism students, from Teesdale Comprehensive School, visited the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, to look at services, products and promotional techniques.
The students devised promotional literature to advertise the forthcoming Toulouse Lautrec and the art of the French poster family fun day on October 26.
Lisa Jefferies, the museum's education officer, said: "The museum was so impressed with the way the students had thought about the quality and presentation content of the material they produced that we asked if we could display their work in the lead-up to the family day."
Leisure and tourism teacher John Trevett approached the museum to ask if the pupils could get involved.
A poster designed by Jake Cooke was judged to be the best and will be available to the public as a handout for the family day.
