PLANS to demolish a former ambulance station and build 14 flats on the site will be discussed by councillors today .
Meadowcroft Homes has applied to build in Clarence Avenue, in Chester-le-Street.
There would be two blocks, one three-storey, the other four-storeys.
Existing mature trees on the site will be preserved.
There have been no objections to the development, which was granted outline permission in April.
Council officers have recommended that today's planning committee endorses the proposal.
