Darlington Embroiderers' Guild is celebrating a landmark anniversary with a spectacular exhibition.
The organisation was founded in the town in 1979 and has welcomed stitching enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.
Its members have been a regular fixture at Darlington Arts Centre, in Vane Terrace, for the past 25 years after choosing the venue for its meeting rooms and exhibition spaces.
The Arts Centre is again the location for this year's exhibition, entitled Creation.
It runs until November 10 and features an array of work, much of which proved a hit at the St Cuthbert's Church Flower Festival. The Darlington branch has set up a Young Embroiderers group, encouraging youngsters aged eight to 16 to take up the pursuit.
Honorary secretary Joy Bradshaw said the branch owed "a great debt to the loyalty of members and generous sharing of skills which consistently encourages members to explore their potential".
She said: "For the future, we would like to feel we can build on this solid foundation and take embroidery further as a living tradition and rewarding skill."
