POLICE officers have raised £750 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Sergeant Neil Hallewell, who is based at York, and Malton-based Sergeant Jackie Smart organised the third annual summer ball at York Racecourse.
About 130 people, including police, support staff, family and friends, attended the event, which has raised lots of money over the years.
Sgt Smart said: "We chose the Yorkshire Air Ambulance as a beneficiary because it is an incredibly worthy local charity. It is being used more often and you never know when you might need it."
Yorkshire Air Ambulance fundraiser Bob Smailes said: "We are extremely grateful to the organisers and participants of the summer ball for their donation.
"The air ambulance costs more than £3,000 a day to run and relies predominantly on voluntary donations, so we rely on support like this to maintain the life-saving service."
