RAIL enthusiasts building the first mainline steam locomotive in Britain for more than 40 years have staged their annual convention.
Dozens of people converged on Darlington's Hopetown Lane carriageworks for the event, organised by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust.
The trust is investing more than £2m in creating the No 60163 Tornado and unveiled several components for the engine at Saturday's event.
Trust marketing director David Bedding said: "It went extremely well, we had 200 people there and it was a great success for everyone involved."
