YOUNG musicians are invited to take part in an event at Peterlee Leisure Centre on Friday, October 29.
No booze, No Drugs - Just Rock and Roll will take place over two sessions. The first session will be for under-16s and the second for 16-year-olds and over.
Organisers hope to find six rock bands for each session with musicians of a similar age to the audience.
Dave Clarke, District of Easington Council's cultural development officer, said: "The event will be an excellent arena to showcase talented young musicians.
"We are looking for young rock bands to play at the two sessions and hope anyone interested will get in touch with us.
"Unfortunately, we will not be able to pay performance fees, but a sound engineer with dull sound will be helping out.''
The events have been organised by the council's anti-social behaviour unit, the cultural development unit, police and East Durham and Houghall Community College.
The first session for under- 16s will run from 3pm to 6pm and admission is free. The second session for 16s and over starts at 7.30pm and there will be an admission charge of £1.
To play, call 0191-527 0501 extension 2238 or 2281.
