FORTY jobs are to be created following the £1m redevelopment of a Darlington nightclub.
The new-look Escapade club, formerly the Mardi Gras, will be unveiled at a VIP launch event tonight.
Managers say the 1,400-capacity venue, in Gladstone Street, has been given a different feel since work began in June.
There will be three rooms, with clubbers able to sample a lounge, theatre bar and nightclub area.
Inspiration for the minimalist design was taken from New York lounge clubs.
The interconnecting three rooms will offer different musical choices. The theatre bar will include live entertainment, as well as playing music from the Seventies, Eighties and Nineties.
