STUDENTS will receive awards for their achievements in an Oscar-style awards ceremony tomorrow.
Tanni Grey-Thompson will present the awards at the third Celebration of Success event, at Hartlepool College of Education, at 7pm.
A total of 23 awards will be presented to secondary school students and post-16 students to recognise outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.
The awards this year include the Peter Mandelson Striving For Success Award, which has been donated by the former Hartlepool MP to reward students who have overcome major challenges to achieve success.
Jeremy Fitt, Hartlepool Borough Council's director of education, said: "Thanks to their creativity, their dedication and their tenacity, our young people have achieved some outstanding successes, and that's something of which the whole town can be very proud."
