YORK-based food manufacturer the Salad Garden has changed hands after being bought by a father-and-son team.
Alan and Mark Hawley, of Hawley Foods, said they were planning significant capital expenditure and job creation after taking over the firm, which produces sandwich fillings and salads for bakeries and sandwich shops.
Research shows that sandwiches make up the largest and fastest growing sector of the fast food market.
The father-and-son partnership said they were hoping to double the businesses turnover in the next two years.
They said new ideas on product development would see business developing market share in jacket potatoes and soups.
The Salad Garden, which was established in 1992, moved into a purpose-built factory on the outskirts of York four years ago.
