PLANS to increase the number of parking spaces at Darlington Memorial Hospital will go before councillors next week.
Durham NHS Trust wants to redesign the car park to provide 57 extra staff and 96 extra visitor spaces.
The plan will go before the borough council's planning committee on Wednesday. The council received two letters of objection, expressing concern about the decked area being an eyesore and traffic hazard.
Planning officers are recommending approval under delegated powers, subject to the trust paying for traffic improvements and the relocation of a bus shelter.
