PUPILS yesterday learned about Barnardo's and then put their knowledge to good journalistic use.
As part of their study into the Victorians, year six pupils at Firthmoor Primary School learned about Barnardo's, set up in the late 1800s.
Kirsty Guy, from the charity, explained how Thomas Barnardo started his work.
Youngsters then worked with former Northern Echo journalist John Dean to create news stories from the information.
