A RETIRED nurse and an education specialist have been appointed as non-executive directors on the board of Sedgefield Primary Care Trust.
Agnes Armstrong and David Halladay, who are both from Spennymoor, will sit for four years and will receive £5,673 a year.
Mrs Armstrong started her nursing career straight from school and worked for 18 years as a community midwife in the Spennymoor area, retiring in 1999. She is a councillor for the Tudhoe ward and a governor at three Spennymoor schools.
Mr Halladay is a self-employed consultant and former senior civil servant. He is chair of governors at Ox Close Primary School, in Spennymoor, and a governor at two schools.
Non-executive directors are expected to devote two-and-a-half days a month to their duties.
