A VETERAN athlete has been awarded a cash grant to help him keep on running.
Jim Caddy, pictured, has been awarded £720 from the West Redcar Single Regeneration Budget's community chest.
The grant from the fund, financed by One NorthEast and managed by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, will go towards replacing Mr Caddy's treadmill.
Other successful applicants were:
* Coatham Community Forum, awarded £197 to cover running costs to the end of the year.
* Newcomen Methodist Church, £1,000 towards refurbishing its communal kitchen.
* Coatham Community Association, £1,000 towards renovating the centre.
The community chest offers grants of up to £1,000, available to community and voluntary groups, based or active in the West Redcar area.
