STUDENT Katherine Hutchinson has won an award for her studies.
Ms Hutchinson, from East Rounton, Northallerton, has been awarded the Lloyds TSB prize for the best overall mark achieved by a BA (honours) business management student.
The 22-year-old is a student at Harper Adams University College, Shropshire, and was awarded the prize after producing a dissertation called: How can a farm business meet consumer demand for local produce in the current market environment, with particular reference to farm retailing?'
She was awarded the prize at the University College's graduation ceremony, where she also received a first class degree in business enterprise. The former Northallerton College student is planning a trip to Australia, and on her return, hopes to work in rural business and eventually set up her own business.
