PRACTICE nurses are joining forces with a workingmen's club to fight flu this winter.
Nurses from Sacriston Surgery and Durham and Chester-le-Street Primary Care Trust (PCT) will be at the Sacriston Workingmen's Club, in Sacriston, at 9am on Thursday.
About 600 people considered to be at risk and those aged 65 and over from the Sacriston General Practice have already signed up to have their free flu jab.
The first of two events was held at Cooper Hall, in Witton Gilbert, on Friday.
Sacriston surgery general manager Tony Gallimore said: "Last year's event at the Sacriston Workingmen's Club was a big success so we decided to do it again and go for the double by holding an event at Witton Gilbert as well."
"The staff from the surgery and the PCT worked really hard to organise the events and we are delighted with the response from our patients."
There are still a number of appointments available for people who wish to have their flu jab.
If anyone is interested, they should contact the surgery between 2.30pm and 4pm daily on 0191-371 9200.
