CAMPAIGNERS who claim a historic site will be damaged if more quarrying is allowed have launched an online forum.
Members of Heritage Action say Tarmac Northern's plans to extend Nosterfield Quarry, close to Thornborough Henges, near Bedale, North Yorkshire, would destroy a site of national importance.
The group has created a web forum in a bid to keep members informed.
Campaign co-ordinator George Chaplin said: "On the day we opened the forum, 50 henge enthusiasts joined without us even advertising it.
"We hoped to get one or two people to test the system, but after just four days we had more than 100 members."
Members of the online group receive a regular newsletter and are able to view an exclusive set of online images.
Tarmac Northern has denied the extension of the quarry would damage the historic site.
