A SCHOOL drama festival is being held in one of the region's theatres all this week.
Thirteen schools from across North Yorkshire are taking part in the event at Richmond's Georgian Theatre.
The festival, which started last night, has been organised by the theatre and Richmond School.
Richard Jones, the school's head of performing arts said: "Given the interest and talent that exists in the county, I thought it was a great idea to pull together a festival where our young performers can show off their amazing talents."
Plays range from Shakespeare to Greek drama, and well-known pieces by Alan Ayckbourn and Bill Owen. Performances start at 7pm each night until Friday.
Tickets cost £6 and can be reserved by calling (01748) 825252.
