DETAILED plans for part of one of Darlington's biggest housing schemes will go before the council by the end of the year.
Bussey and Armstrong won approval for the West Park community village this time last year. When complete, it will include 700 homes, a £20m mental health unit, a park, a pub, a convenience store, a doctors' surgery and the new Alderman Leach Primary School.
An application has been submitted to the borough council for approval of a detailed design of retail, commercial and residential units as part of the development on West Auckland Road.
A council spokesperson said the application relates to the building of ground-floor shops and residential or commercial units above, car parking and landscaping.
The application is expected to go before the planning committee in December.
