A drive to get the people of Darlington recycling was launched yesterday.
Borough council officers were in the town's Market Square to offer advice to residents as part of the Big Recycle campaign.
Teams will also visit 21,000 homes in the borough this month to talk to people about the benefits of recycling.
The visits have started in the Harrowgate Hill area and will continue until the end of the month.
Residents presently use the Time to Recycle scheme, using green boxes to store glass, bottles, aluminium, jars, and steel cans and a blue recycling bag in which to store newspapers and junk mail.
