TORRENTIAL rain couldn't dampen the spirits of youngsters from a Crook nursery who stepped out to raise money for sick children.
Tiny tots who go to Kidzone joined in a sponsored toddle twice round the field at Crook Primary School.
The event was the centrepiece of a fun day organised by staff at the nursery to raise money for the children's ward at Bishop Auckland General Hospital.
With a total of £500 taken on the day and sponsorship money still to come in, it could produce as much as £1,000 - with Kidzone prepared to double the final total.
Beverly Harrison, from the nursery, said: "We were surprised at how much we made in just 90 minutes.
"Some people didn't stay long because of the weather.
"The children did really well to brave the rain."
