A HOSPICE is to receive a funding boost from an unlikely source - sausages.
To mark British Sausage Appreciation Week, which starts on Saturday, butcher's chain Harry Coates and Son will donate 10p for every pound of sausage sold through its three shops to St Cuthbert's Hospice, in Durham.
There will also be free tastings of its 12 sausage flavours at its shops in Framwellgate Moor and Coxhoe on Saturday and Saturday, October 30, when volunteers from the hospice will also be selling Christmas cards to raise funds.
