A £125m Government-backed investment fund has located its main offices in the North-East.
Futurebuilders, the Home Office-supported project, has moved its newly-recruited staff into Cale Cross House, the highprofile 18-storey office building on the Tyne Bridge, in Newcastle.
Futurebuilders is a Government investment fund to improve public service delivery through long-term investment in the voluntary and community sector in England.
Cale Cross House was chosen as the national location for Futurebuilders following a nationwide search. The organisation said Newcastle offered the quality of staff, infrastructure, transport links and accessibility of office accommodation.
Tony Wordsworth, of Lamb and Edge, who acted on behalf of Cale Cross House landlords in letting the 3,500 sq ft of space, said: "It's great news for the city and the region to attract a new company into Newcastle."
Futurebuilders said it wanted to invest from £30,000 up to several million pounds in about 250 organisations.
