ONE of the biggest names in football will be on the scoreboard at a County Durham ground on Sunday when Manchester United's women's team play at Shildon in the first round of the Women's FA Cup.

The match is a home tie for South Durham Royals, who are already enjoying their best-ever run in the competition with qualifying round wins at home to Crook, where the score was 4-2, and away to Kirklees, near Huddersfield, where striker Becca Adams grabbed the only goal of the game.

Royals manager Colin Harker is confident of victory.

He said: "This is a great test for us to see just how far we have come. It is the first time we have reached this stage of the competition and we believe we can turn home advantage into victory and reach the second round."

The match kicks off at 2pm at Shildon Athletics Stadium - opposite Shildon-Sunnydale Leisure Centre.
