COUNCILLORS have stepped in to revive a town's popular teenage discos.
They had come to an end in Pickering, because of a cash crisis.
Now, Ryedale District Council has provided £600, which will enable the monthly discos to be held for the next year at the Memorial Hall said Councillor Julie Hepworth.
They are being run by the Youth Events Group in Pickering. "They were very popular and enabled the young people to have fun in a safe environment without the pressure of drugs and alcohol" said Coun Hepworth.
