THREE sisters from Guisborough are celebrating after coming first, second and third in a regional cycling competition.
The Raw sisters - Zoe, 12, Kirsty, nine, and Megan, eight, - competed in the North-West Youth Tour: Megan won the under-eight category, Kirsty was second in the under-tens and Zoe third in the under-12s - despite the fact they rode against boys.
The competition has six rounds all over the North-West, including Morecambe, Liverpool and Preston, which involved the girls' parents driving 1,500 miles over several weekends.
The series involved mountain biking, cross country cycling and road biking.
Zoe, who attends Lawrence Jackson School, and Kirsty and Megan, who go to Highcliffe Primary, have been cycling for three years and were introduced to the sport by their parents, who are both cyclists.
Mr Raw said: "We make a weekend of it by taking the caravan - it's something we can all do together.
"The children don't have to ride if they don't want to, but they are so enthusiastic. They enjoy it a great deal."
The family are members of Cleveland and Stockton Wheelers' cycling club, which has 130 members.
