SCHOOL Aycliffe resident Elfrieda Smith has won a council garden competition for the second successive year.
Her front garden in High Barn Road caught the eye of judges in the Great Aycliffe Town Council Community Enhancement Awards.
She was presented with the Lady Beveridge rose bowl and a bouquet by Great Aycliffe Mayor Councillor Maud Gray.
All 45 members of the public who nominated their gardens for the awards will receive community enhancement certificates recognising their contribution to the appearance of Great Aycliffe.
Mrs Smith was given her award at a presentation ceremony attended by coun Gray and her consort Councillor George Gray.
