A RANGE of activities have been lined up to keep young visitors amused at a tourist attraction during half-term week.
The National Glass Centre, on the north bank of the River Wear, in Sunderland, is staging Glassweek to tie in with the school mid-term break.
It features a programme of exhibitions, interactive displays and glass-blowing demonstrations, supported by a range of talks and tours, plus children's workshops. These are aimed at youngsters aged from four to 16, and each costs £5, or, alternatively, the cost is included in the £12 charge for the centre's glass tour family ticket.
Glass painting takes place on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to noon, and 2pm to 3pm.
Sand-casting sessions are held today, tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday, all between 2pm and 3pm.
Glass mosaic making takes place today, Wednesday and Friday, from 11am to noon.
Places are limited on the workshops and booking is essential.
Anyone interest is asked to contact the centre, in Liberty Way, off Dame Dorothy Street, on 0191-515 5555.
