FIVE women who have contributed 50 years of voluntary work between them were honoured at the weekend.
They have worked at the Help the Aged shop, in Yarm High Street, since it opened almost ten years ago.
To celebrate the shop's tenth birthday, they were each given long-service awards on Saturday and stock in the store was sold at a ten per cent discount.
The women are: Tracy Reed, Shirley Scott, Gillian Leach, Hazel Turton and June Lyth.
Shop manager Shirley Rothwell, said: "We have lots of loyal customers who enjoy the happy and lively atmosphere thanks to a group of fantastic volunteers.
"These five women together have given more than 20,000 hours of voluntary service. Our shop is one of the charity's top performers across Teesside."
