A NEW kind of superwoman is on the rise in Britain.

She is career-minded, cash rich and has children. Research for Internet bank Egg found that the superwomen earn more than £50,000, with many on salaries of more than £100,000. They are holding down highly-paid jobs, running a home and raising young children. Sixteen per cent of women with young children are earning more than their partners.

A quarter of a million working mothers earn more than £50,000 a year, with 30 per cent of these on more than £100,000, and 16,000 earning between £250,000 and £500,000.
