A PRIMARY school football team is kicking off its season with a new strip.
The youngsters from Dean Bank Primary, in Ferryhill, now wear bright orange tops and black shorts when they take on the opposition in the Ferryhill and District Boys Under 11 seven-a-side league.
Headteacher Chris Young said that the strips were bought thanks to a donation from the Three Rivers Housing Association.
He said: "Three Rivers Housing Association made a donation to the school and we thought that the money would be well spent by buying the boys from the years five and six team a new strip.
"We run two teams in the league and they are very keen. We have got some good players and they did well last season. We felt that their performance warranted them having new strips and hope they do as well this season.''
Lorna Casey, from Three Rivers Housing Association presented the team with their kit.
Mr Young said: "We are grateful to Three Rivers for the donation because we would not have been able to buy the strips without it.''
