NO news is good news when it comes to Darlington striker Alun Armstrong, according to David Hodgson.
The Quakers boss last night confirmed the club have yet to receive an approach for the 29-year-old, despite the instant impact he has made at the Williamson Motors Stadium.
The Gateshead-born forward returned to the North-East in September after being freed by Ipswich Town in the summer.
Armstrong put pen-to-paper on a three-month deal on the understanding that he could move on if an opportunity to play at a higher level arose.
While the Tynesider may have put himself in the shop window with four goals - including the first hat-trick of his career against Southend - in six starts, Hodgson has no cause for concern.
"Alun has done his chances of playing at a higher level no harm at all," admitted Hodgson.
"He's been fantastic since he joined us but he knows that he will need to re-produce that kind of form on a week-to-week basis if he wants to move on to bigger and better things.
"At the moment we're happy for him to prove himself with us and long may it continue.
"Who knows? It may turn out that he stays with us beyond December."
Meanwhile, defender Curtis Fleming is unlikely to return to first team action for at least another fortnight.
The former Republic of Ireland international has not played since September after injuring his knee in the 1-1 draw at Macclesfield Town. Skipper Craig Liddle is making good progress from a leg injury and is scheduled to return at the same time as Fleming.
Hodgson is hoping to resolve Clyde Wijnhard's future in the next couple of days when he will speak to the player's agent, Peter Harrison.
* Quakers' League Two game with Swansea has been rescheduled for November 16 (7.45pm). Saturday's clash at the Vetch Field was postponed due to the waterlogged pitch.
* Supporters are reminded that tickets for the home game with Wycombe Wanderers are available at the discounted rate of £10 and £5 if bought before Saturday at the ticket office.
However, ticket prices revert to their usual prices of £15 and £7 if bought on the day of the game. The ticket office is open 9am-6pm.
