STAFF from the North-East Rail Passengers Committee (RPC) will be out in force today to tackle the subject of late running and cancelled trains.
RPC members are in York to raise passengers' awareness of how they can claim compensation for such events and to explain how the system works.
Chairman Christine Knights said: "Each train company has its own passenger's charter and the amounts of compensation vary between companies depending on the length of the delay and the price paid for the ticket.
"The staff and members will be meeting passengers to explain these differences."
A display stand will be manned by staff from the RPC from 7am to 7pm, who will be available to answer any enquiries from passengers.
